Kathryn Wilson is an independent researcher, and the originator of the Multi-Channel Processing Theory (MCPT), a novel framework that explores how environmental cues, processing dynamics, and multiple interacting channels may influence dyslexic cognition.
Drawing upon lived experience, educational practice, and academic research, Kathryn’s work seeks to move beyond traditional deficit-based explanations of dyslexia and towards a deeper understanding of how individuals process, organise, and respond to information in real time.
Through MCPT, she explores concepts such as processing anxiety, environmental influences on cognition, storytelling, creativity, attention, and learning, with the aim of creating more effective and compassionate approaches for children, parents, educators, and researchers.
My Background

My Aim
My aim is simple:
To help parents understand how their child processes the world and provide practical strategies that support confidence, learning, and wellbeing.
A Different Way of Thinking
Every child processes the world differently. Understanding those differences is often the first step towards helping them thrive.
